SLO Ride to Hell

San Luis Obispo, CA – Saturday April 15

We’ve adjusted the date on this one to avoid the spring rains and updated the route to take out the pavement. More dirt! (and more, and more, and more!) We’ve got camping lined up with showers and a new, improved route that made us think “it’s like Downieville, for ‘cross bikes!”. Choose from a big route and a little route: both offer a full day of fun in the sun. The finish line has our traditional buffet and you can camp all weekend for little more than the cost of your entry.

Where is the start/finish location?

Lazy Arrow Adventures
9330 Camatta Creek Rd, Santa Margarita, CA 93453

Camping is $10 per person, collected onsite, cash only.

Start and finish is the same place as the camping.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

YES! But you’ll have to email us ( more than 3 days (72hrs) in advance of the ride start, and all transfers are subject to a $10 fee.Due to the nature of this event, we cannot offer refunds or last-minute (after the 72hr cutoff) requests to transfer your registration to another of our fine adventure offerings. We can accommodate transfers to another rider (to ride this event) right up to the ride start, though.

What’s included?

First and foremost, you’ll benefit from Murphy Mack’s twisted genius for finding routes guaranteed to leave you dumbstruck and cursing in equal measure. Our dedicated team of incredible volunteers will keep you fed and hydrated at superbly-stocked aid stations at regular intervals along the route. A pro mechanic and roving medic will be out on course with you, and we provide an emergency SAG vehicle (for bona fide emergencies only).

And of course, a YUGE post-race buffet and podium party is part of the SuperPro Gravel Gauntlet experience. So many noms. Icy cold beverages. Stuff your face then come back for more.

Will you have any super cool merchandise so people who meet me know what a badass I am?

YES! In years past we have done a limited run of t-shirts and jackets, and are looking into continuing this fine tradition. Bring cash. Cash is king.

Due to the storms we’ve adjusted the route to bypass a closed road. This is the new route with new features! This year we’re going all the way to the top of Black Mountain (3,563ft), something we’ve not been able to do before.

We will send you the final course link 24-48hrs ahead of time to account for any route surprises we encounter while marking the course. GPS devices highly encouraged. Please plan accordingly.

NAVIGATION IS A PART OF THIS EVENT. YOUR ROUTING GPS IS YOUR GUIDE. The course will be lightly marked with paper arrows and flagging tape for backup purposes only. DO NOT EXPECT TO SHOW UP AND RELY ON THE PAPER MARKINGS ALONE.

Cows trample the arrows, dew pulls the flagging down, hillbilly’s run over or tamper / remove arrows and tape, the lighting changes and the markings become less visible… too many failure points to rely on that. It typically takes us ten hours with two people to mark the routes as we do. It would require a second day to mark them more heavily. The routing GPS is the solution to all your problems. Set the ‘off course warning tones’ to ‘on’ and never miss a turn again.
